A Nashville, Tennessee native started singing before she could read and performing by the age of ten. She attended Wharton Arts Magnet Middle School (TN), Nashville School of the Arts (TN), The American Musical and Dramatics Academy (NYC), and is now attending The New School University (NYC). In school she did such show as The Lion King, The Boy Friend (Masie) Once On This Island (TiMoune) and A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum and was a part of many jazz, swing, blues, and choral groups.
While in Nashville she become a well known singer throughout the city, recording demos for song writers on music row & performing the “National Anthem”, pop / country songs, and Christmas songs at college / professional football, baseball, basketball games & Nashville’s Summer Music Festivals, she also recorded The National Theme Song for the Special Olympics, “Heart of a Lion.”
She is an award winner dancer and has shared her gift on stage at BB King’s (TN), The Grand Ole Opray, The Ryman Auditorium, The French Quarter Cafe, and The Rhythm Kitchen. On Broadway she was in the Original cast of “Tarzan” as a featured singer from beginning to end and was on tour for two years with the 1st National tour of “Hairspray the Musical” as a Dynamite.
She Just finished the World Premiere of “Catch Me If You Can” at the 5th Ave Theater in Seattle, Washington, which is set to open in New York in 2011 and The New York Harlem Singers Winter Asian Tour under the direction of Phillip Boykin and Musical Direction of E’ Marcus Harper. Regional work includes: Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Charlene/WPPA), Little Shop of Horrors (Chiffon/Theater Aspen), Beehive the 60’s Musical (Tina-Aretha/Maltz Jupiter Theater), The Best Little Whore House in Texas (Jewel / FIPPA), The Group (Therapist / AMDA), and Sophisticated Ladies (Singer/Dancer).
She also performed on the 2007 Miss Florida Pageant and sung back-up with Phil Collins on “The Today Show”, “The View”, and “The Early Show”. She Debut her one women show “I Got Love” in 2007 at the Laurie Beechman Theater, and was nominated for a MAC Award in 2008.
Anastacia has done many readings/workshops in the New York area and has worked with many different artists.
